I’ll have you all in stiches

Today I launch my new business - called In Stitches, providing a specialised tailoring and soft furnishings offering to the people of Bristol, Weston super Mare and the surrounding areas.

I say I launched my own business but, in truth, I had a bit of help. Self employment experts Working Links teamed up with creative design agencies Workbrands and Nudge Digital to get my business idea off the ground.

But one thing that's different about my new company is that I did it all in just 24 hours. Yes, that's right - everything. Working Links and its partner organisations sorted my business plan, marketing plan, promotional literature, website etc - alongside all the practicalities of setting up as your own boss. It's been a pretty hectic day for everyone involved but it's been worth it - and I'm ready for the coming weeks and months.

I've long since been involved in fashion and tailoring, having grown up working for a well respected tailor in the North West but my career went in a different direction . But now, aged 52, I'm back doing what I love best.

If you buy a suit from a supermarket or big chain store, you'll find they are all generic sizes and won't fit properly - that's where I come in. I can trim and tailor it to suit (forgive the pun). I can help with all clothing alterations and soft furnishings too.
